i called to see about getting a loan, i explained i had a small existing loan that would be paid off when it was approved. they said that they don't give a loan when someone has a existing loan.i explained i had gotten 10-12 loans and have built my credit score up "832" over 3 decades and i know that if i pay off the existing loan and set up auto payment to the bank it'll be approved. they set up a meeting. I went in and did it, only to get home and find 3 errors.so i called and they had me go back the next day to get home and find 2 more errors. neither had paying off the existing loan, which i told them that would cause an automatic denial.i called back and spoke the the manager,i explained what had happened and was told the 2 would be amended and she would put it in correctly.i waited and found out it was approved and all i had to do was go in and sign for. I went in and signed for it. they paid off my existing loan and put the remainder in my checking account. THIS IS WHERE IT GOT CRAZY. i got home and noticed my credit score had dropped 30 points. i called to ask why that happened to be told it goes down when yoi apply for a loan. i said not 30 points, i told her i was going to check into it. then the TRUTH came out. she said oh it would drop for getting a DENIAL. that was NEVER told to me until they had to explain my score dropping that much.in my opinion she covered for his messing up what i told him and her i DON'T want to happen.so now i have a denial on my record and my score dropped 30 point ruining my 3 decades of building it up for now and my future plans. she admitted multiple errors on their part, and once its put in the records you can't really do anything about it. she asked how they could make it up many time, but how do you make up for that. again in my opinion i don't recommened you get a loan there

My husband had passed from agent orange a month ago. He had a checking account and a savings account at KeyBank. My name. Was on the checking but not the savings account. So I took his death notice to KeyBank to close the accounts. I was referred to Mitch, who asked me for ID. I showed him the death certificate. He said I needed more proof. I showed him my drivers license, he said he needed more proof. I showed him my military card. He did not except military cards and threw the card back at me, saying it meant nothing. Even though the card had my photo and on the back my husband Social Security number. He needed more identity so I went home and got the marriage license. He wouldn’t except the marriage license because he says it wasn’t the original . so I had a checking account with my name on it. I had a death certificate. I has my drivers license. I had my military card I had my marriage license I had my birth certificate. I had my diploma from high school, and he said I did not have enough for proof so realizing there was no way I was going to receive my money I left he called the police on me, saying I made a scene at the bank, yes I did make a scene at the bank. I ask him what more could he possibly need to prove who I was I was married in 1969 I am 76 years old, and this gentleman did nothing but harass me and he had absolutely no intentions on giving the money that was mine, so I left, and when the cop stopped us, he knew us and I showed him all the papers that I had. He was willing to go to the bank and verify who I was . The police officer called the bank, told a man he knew who I was and he would take me to the bank and verify it. The bank manager says we’re closed and hung up. Yes I was very upset , yes I ask the man why he was doing this to me ? Was it because , I was old or because he did not like military veterans since he threw the card at me and I also ask him. So many people come in and out of this bank why did you chose to harass me?

Always recognize me by name and it has nothing to do with the size of my accounts. They genuinely care. I closed accounts at other banks to consolidate here. It would be worth the trip to see these gentlemen for your banking needs.

Terrible, terrible customer service. I called this branch because my debit card was compromised. They told me to call the customer service number. I ended up talking with someone in the Philippines. Not what I was looking for... called to speak to branch manager. No return call.

Key Bank, Pound Ridge. NY. These are the facts. I opened a checking account via a promotional offer (bonus of $400 deposit) at Key Bank, bonus to be deposited in my new account within 90 days. No $400 was deposited well after 90 days. Then I was told my account didn't qualify for the bonus deposit. Misinformation from the bank officer here who opened my account was the issue, even though she assured me that my bank transfer deposits would fulfill requirements. Further, they misplaced a deposit from my other bank and I had to stop payment. The bank officer promised to call me back but never did. Also, I had to wait over 15 minutes at the bank for an officer to come out of the back room to handle my account, and never did come out, so I had to ask for another officer to help me. Result: I withdrew my money and closed out my account due to the poor customer service and misinformation by Key Bank.

Key Bank offers customer service but to date they have NOT been of any service.....I can't even get them to return a phone call.....my suggestion use Chase Bank!

They withdrew my purchases from my new personal account and yet I paid these Amazon purchases with my BUSINESS DEBIT card. Their online banking? Forget it. I made a payment on the due date to my Key Latitude card by transferring the payment from my personal account....Latitude sent me a late fee of 27.50. I called them, they saw I DID make the payment ON my due date and reversed the fee. Due to billing cycle, 6 weeks to see it applied. Online Bill Pay? I tried it once to pay my car loan, it took them EIGHT days to transfer the funds. Then I stumble upon the fact that my 4 month old (new) business debit card isn't even listed as a debit card connected but have my old debit card from a closed checking account. This bank is a TRAP folks. Im going right back to Putnam Savings as soon as possible. I forwarded my experience especially this recent one where they fraudulently went into my PERSONAL checking to pay for my amazon purchases from my BUSINESS acct. I only have ONE card as a payment option on my amazon acct. NEVER could I imagine a banks confusing my simple accounts there. My attorney wants to put all the pieces together and I will be recording my next conversation with the manager.

A thief altered my check and the bank accepted the check. I reported the incident to the police dept. and the bank asked for the police report and report #. Everything was given to the bank but they failed to follow up with me and have not tried to recoup the $500.00 from the other bank the money was deposited into. When I asked the bank officer why did he not get in contact with me, his response was that he deals with too many people to have given me a call! I was treated like they don't want my business and I was a bother. I pay for service but get attitude instead. #changebank.

Key Bank - Sewickly was awful! After dealing with our personal and business accounts they closed our accounts after 6 weeks. No overdrafts! We just made deposits and did wires for our business. After setting up our business account and then personal accounts they choose to “close” our account. We had identity theft and PROVED IT thru chex systems. Got our clearances thru Chex Systems but they didn’t care. We were treated like criminals. And their branch staff lied to us about our accounts. We even had Wires coming into our account that they rejected our deposits even after promising while they were fixing our accounts it would be ok. We lost a weeks worth of work for their chaos. DO NOT TRUST THIS BANK!

I've been a client of this bank with a personal checking account and two business accounts through a number of changes. The senior management folks have weathered the storm, remaining there to provide the personalized service one expects from a small local bank even though they are now part of a huge organization. I've been a client of this bank with a personal checking account and two business accounts through a number of changes. Very unpleasant experiences lately. Lost my wallet, debit card,and ID. Went to get some cash. Teller was very rude and condescending. My only form of ID was an expired passport. She first told me I could not get any cash without valid ID. I did have my checkbook and she could have easily checked the signature card. She did agree to give me $50 of MY money but it would be a one time deal. So now, I have only $50 to live on until I get a new debit card in 10 days. I will be looking for a new bank or traveling to the Gig Harbor branch from now on. I have been with Keybank for 28 years. (Purdy branch, only 2 years.) This is not the first time I have dealt with this cranky teller at this branch. On a positive note, most of the employees are usually pleasant.

Very unpleasant experiences lately. Lost my wallet, debit card,and ID. Went to get some cash. Teller was very rude and condescending. My only form of ID was an expired passport. She first told me I could not get any cash without valid ID. I did have my checkbook and she could have easily checked the signature card. She did agree to give me $50 of MY money but it would be a one time deal. So now, I have only $50 to live on until I get a new debit card in 10 days. I will be looking for a new bank or traveling to the Gig Harbor branch from now on. I have been with Keybank for 28 years. (Purdy branch, only 2 years.) This is not the first time I have dealt with this cranky teller at this branch. On a positive note, most of the employees are usually pleasant.

Those are the rules at any bank...it was sad you lost your wallet but you need to learn to deal with things and stop blaming others for your misfortune

Very unpleasant bank. They never mail me the correct payment stub to pay off my loan. Someone named Karen is very mean and rude and I avoid her at all costs. Scott was condescending on the phone.
Stealing / Slave labor Empolyees. What do you expect for service.

I read these reviews and the number one thing is people need to know it not the empolyees at this Bank it is the Upper Mangerment. They give these people "titles" but know real living wage. Basically stealing form them or can be seen as Slave Labor. They are real low life people. Please stop banking at places that use turn over because they can find another sucker thinking having a bank job would be a good idea. Small banks have in the Northwest have employees for many years and the service is more reliable and can be trusted.

Asked for 20 $1 bills and the teller says if I don't have it in my drawer you don't get 20. I got 15 and a $5 bill. Not impressed. Glad I do my banking somewhere else.

There is the worst staff for my experience. I didn't open debit card in this bank, someone used it for 76 fuel 2840 Seattle. The staff said you open the account over one year and we cannot proof it. Seems the security is my problems and the attitude so rude. Never said "Sorry" to customers. They must more training and learning in customer services.

I don't understand the previous reviews. I switched from BAC down the road for SO MANY reasons, all of which have been solved by changing to Key. I don't get dinged with a fee every time I turn around, they don't keep trying to train me to be more digital, they are responsive, super friendly, and fast. I love my new bank.

Lured in by the "Free $200.00" gift to open a checking account... I have a business Checking account at another bank and asked that I direct deposit myself $$ to qualify for the "Free $200.00". They wouldn't allow this for unspecified reasons.
OK... kept the checking account anyway, but after 6 months was very unsatisfied with the online results, and customer service as a whole.
For instance I came in to get a notary, it was early morning and the bank was very slow.. The bank manager, noticed me waiting and I even poked my head in her office and said I just need a quick notary!!! She blew me off and continued with her PERSONAL phone call. The teller who was not a notary told me she crashed in the parking lot that morning and was on the phone with her insurance adjuster. Well half hour later she still was on the phone, I left with no notary.
Another instance that was the straw that broke this camels back was this week when I was told on the phone I would receive a refund for a BS charge they accidently put on my account. 2 weeks later I called back and was told this was incorrect and even the reference number and assurance I would be credited were incorrect info and that I would get half of my charge back but that was it. I was told this after half hour on hold and in broken English that I could barely comprehend.
At that point I peeled out of my driveway, headed down to the closest branch and withdrew my money.
