I started out with Southside Bank and Trust. Easy to work with, fair and honest. Sold out to Busey and all went downhill from there. I dont like the new service. To many ifs and to many questions. Online banking is confusing.

This bank is probably the worst bank in the history of banking.
They offer overdraft protection but the amount is based on the amount of your deposits and this amount differs from one day to the next.
My account started out as a personal account which cost me a lot less in monthly fees. I later added a DBA to this account to use for my small business. I was told a couple years later that it would be smarter for me to turn this account into a small business account.
I was told that my fees for checks and overdrafts would be less. They also told me they had a credit card service for small business owners that would allow me to except cc and not pay as much in percentage per transaction.
Reality: I was paying more per month in fees. I had 1800.00 in overdraft protection but when a customer wrote me a bad check that did not clear, I was told that due to the amount of deposits being lower that month that my overdraft protection was lowered to 500.00. I am a small construction company, I have slower seasons when work is not as busy. Why would you base the overdraft fees on the amount I have deposited over the last month? I need more overdraft when the season is slow and less when I am making several deposits. These people have it all backward. Not to mention they will not cash a check unless you have an account there. I could not cash a check for a customer that had an account at that bank, WHY? The person writing the check has an account there.
Better off stashing your money in a dumpster. At least there you know where it is going and don't have a question of what is in your wallet.
