Stuck in the drive-through lane

Waiting Time
by Gettawaygal, Jun. 12, 2018
On my way to a meeting, came through the drive-through lane in hopes of quickly cashing a check - put my check in ID into the carrier and sent it in, only to discover there was actually no-one manning the drive-through teller window - after repeatedly hitting the “call teller” button and then trying to telephone the branch to inquire as to how to get my check and ID back (or, ideally, the cash), only to receive a “we are all busy now, call back later” message, it occurred to me that maybe there was something wrong, so I drove around to the front, parked and went in, only to discover that they simply did not think it was important enough to have someone at the teller window (in which event, I suggested, perhaps they should just not keep it open).

I come to this branch every single week like clockwork. The tellers all know me by now and they have a rule where you need either your id or bank card to deposit cash. A rule is a rule which I religiously abide by every single time. today I forgot my Id but had the debit card for one of my accounts so first deposit was no worries. second deposit I was read the rule of the land like if I was some common criminal. This teller is a male young guy and pretty new but omg he is lazy, yawns, stretches while attending to customers. If I got any other teller would have been no problem . But this guy was absolutely unhelpful. One of the tellers realized he was giving me a hard time and told him it was okay that that if one deposit went through okay the second was fine because I am in the bank every single week. This employee should be fired. I've seen him deal with other customers in that lazy attitude type of way and there are too many people needing jobs for this to happen. I intend to take this further than this review because they create problems for customers who they need for no good reason.

like you said a rule is a rule. But we don;t want him to be fired if we are not working as people think we should be working, he young and in the learning stage. I suggest that he first be retrained in being courteous to the customer. If this behavior continues then maybe he should be terminated.

I have been with Chase, here in Janesville, WI, for about 3 years and it has been a positive experience up until now. I rec'd my first overdraft, and it happened due to the monthly service fee. I went to the office to talk to someone, and I also needed to put some checks into my account. While I was at the counter doing my business, there was a young gentleman standing by the back counter on the phone discussing a couple of employees and what he felt they did or didn't do that was wrong. I actually told the teller that he should be taking that conversation elsewhere. Then, when I was done, I saw a man sitting at the desk in the office where the head of our bank sat (female) and the gal who helped me open my account was sitting in there too. She turned and looked at me and continued HER conversation. I sat out in the waiting room for more time than I had waiting for someone basically to stop doing their personal thing to help me. then when I was helped, I told the gentleman that I worked at home and would not be able to do direct deposit, my checks are mailed to me but I would have to go to a different bank, due to high service fees, and he shrugged his shoulders and said there was nothing he could do.....I will be going to a different bank. That is $144.00 a year in service fees just for me to have the "luxury" of banking with you.......I guess you don't want my business....I am not good enough

I've been a happy Chase customer for 8 years and have been to many Chase branches. This branch particular in that the service is not consistent. Sometimes I get amazing, delightful tellers and sometimes I get a person who looks like she work at the DMV. The general mood of the office is sullen except the for the delightful ones.

I went in with someone to get a title notarized. The banker never introduced himself, then didn't give the seller proper directions and when he filled it out wrong didn't tell us it voided the title. When I called the bank manager said (the notary banker) may be able to do something without having to pay the $17. When the notary banker got on he said sorry he filled it out wrong nothing I can do about it. Bank sure has changed from back in the day. I will be looking for a new bank. I have been a loyal customer for 26 years. This was my first bank.

I went in this bank and I was one of TWO customers while I filled out my deposit, which took me 15 minutes since I had a large number of checks to endorse. I counted FIFTEEN, that's 15 employees that were doing basically NOTHING. I know there were at least 2 more in the back, doing the same. They were all laughing and joking and having a good time doing NOTHING. Wow, how can I get a job doing NOTHING? No wonder CHASE lost BILLIONS of dollars!!!

It is unfortunate the employees at this location where unable to help or should I say, make things easier for me by resolving my situation when I asked for help, Saturday 19, 2011. I ordered a new ATM card from another branch. The call center and employee both indicated to wait 10 days, which I did. The card did not arrived therefore I rode my bike to the branch do to not having a vehicle. The employee said to give it a few more days, by Monday November 20, 2011. I was upset but never the less I gave it till then. Today is Tuesday November 22, 2011, and I know have to be inconvenience to call or come in the branch to resolve a matter so small. This would have been dealt with at a click of a mouse from the employee. I’ve never had a complaint from Chase .The employees are always helpful and very courteous but this matter did not have to get to this degree. Again it is unfortunate. To be herd and for someone to hear my dilemma is all that I acquire with this letter, no other agenda, and of course for my ATM card to be ordered again.

I really like this bank and it deserves 5 stars, but I gave it only 3 stars for one reason....occasional utter complete lack of acceptable customer service. However, I find that I have only experienced this with one particular employee by the name of Gertrude. If you ever are directed to speak or deal with this very rude woman, immediately ask for another employee to help you, you will have a much better day. All the personal bankers are great, it seems that only this particular teller disrupts the quality of this branch of Chase bank. So, to customers of Chase, I have but one piece of advice; avoid Gertrude. Otherwise, people there are very attentive.

Like just about any bank these days, you would do almost as well stuffing money in your mattress as opening a savings account (unless of course you have so much money that you don't really need to worry about how much interest you get). It's not good but it's more a sign of the times than a commentary on this bank.
The bad news is that they charge utterly exorbitant fees. $12 a month to have a checking account...and heaven help you if you do your math wrong and have an overdraft of $6. Better catch it and fix it fast or they'll be lining their pockets with your late fees.
However it is not the fault of the folks behind the counters who will bend over backwards to help you. Moreover, I don't feel insulted walking in the door there; they've not tried to turn the branches into mental amusement parks like Wells Fargo does. It's just a bank with a tasteful color theme and a reasonable amount of advertising regarding their services. Pity the decorators and staff couldn't find work at a better institution though.

Opened up a dozen business accounts after B of A decided to start charging fees on things I had always received for free (psssssst... NOT a good way to keep established accounts!). I was their client for 21 years.
I cannot speak about all Chase branch locations, but the dozen or so I use regularly are staffed by people who neither look, sound nor act like bankers. I suspect they are so staffed due to political correctness and cowering to the criminal class. Draw your own conclusions there. Bankers are supposed to meet my needs for managing my accounts and information about them. Their purpose is not to make me wait. Well, Chase, I am looking for a new bank.
I am told the best way to go is to go with a one-branch bank, where you can know and talk with the same people every time. I like that idea. I do not need to be wowed by cathedral ceilings or ten-foot windows. Give me an available banker, decent hours, a drive-through, online access and an ATM card, and I am happy. I can still use the ATM anywhere in the world, and my businesses do not have any need for the big expensive services of huge banks. So, I am now on the hunt for a small-town bank with big smiles, professional attitudes and honest numbers. Know of any?
I went to Chase because B of A cost me alot of money. I am leaving Chase because their branch staff are incompetent. Wish me luck on my search. I think it will be like finding a virgin at the state university.
Hey Chase, get your women bankers out of pants... they look ridiculous!
