BMO is the worst bank. I tried to withdraw money from my account at a atm teller my transaction kept being denied I called the following day my account was on hold for suspicious activity after confirming the transaction that yes indeed it was me BMO approved the withdrawals claiming I received the funds, after many emails and calls back BMO decided to flag and close my account without any reason my checks have cleared I have no access to the account nor my funds I have spoken to BMO many times they emailed me a transaction repost with many customers card numbers and balances making it impossible for me to figure out what transactions are mine. BMO customers don’t deserve to be treated like this BMO bank is a scam a fraud their employees are taking customers money or BMO is a complete scam. BMO needs to be aware of their management personal. Don’t use this bank you won’t see your money again.

I had a car loan with Bank of the west, which has been bought out by BMO. I live in Nevada and my payment notice comes from Illinois. The first month they sent me a notice from BMO. I received it after the loan was due I called and asked why I received it so late because it was even dated the day before the loan was due. I could get no straight answer other than we print them three days in advance. When I explained, I live across the US and it takes a week to get here, meaning I would always get them late there was no response other than we mail them three days in advance. I also explain the closest BMO bank to me is 45 miles round-trip which now I was going to have to drive to avoid having a late payment.  no response other than we mail them three days in advance.
Again I receive my loan payment paperwork last night after 3:30 PM even if I had wrote a check then and took it into the post office. It would not have been mailed until today Wednesday and my payment is due Friday. Again, I would have to pay an absorbent amount to have it overnight, delivered or drive 45 miles to pay. So this morning I tried calling the number listed on my invoice stating, this was the number to call if you have questions about any of your accounts. What I got was an automated system telling me I had to set up a Phone account with them. There was no way to bypass it. I don’t want to sign up for anything with them , what I want to do is find out my balance and pay it off and and get away from
this bank.  
I feel bad for the tellers who were trained and worked for bank of the west at the branch. They are still courteous and helpful, but the people who work at the main center in Illinois are either not trained at all or trained to be extremely difficult and not customer helpful.
I also really question the people who gave them high ratings. If they are indeed, actual ratings and not reviews given by employees, then I think they’re talking about bank tellers at their local banks.  Dealing with their phone people or anyone that was not from a previous bank they bought out or took over or rude. I would highly recommend going to a bank that respects that you’re letting them have your money to work with.

Excellent accounts with no Fees!!!, the people are so good, I wait for a couple minutes les than 15min.. the lady open my account explain everything I need to know, I just got my credit card I’m so happy with my new accounts in BMO

I was a customer of BMO when it was M&I (for about 37 years) my parents opened an account with them when I was born.  Both my parents still bank with them so I stayed with them after I moved out of state (where there are NO BMO banks).  As many people have already said; customer service (call center) is HORRIBLE.  The manager that was there during the time I called had me in tears.  She made me feel like I was dumb and no better than the gum on the bottom of her shoe (keep in mind I have a masters in Elem Education and been in small business management/customer service for many years).  Due to fees that they charged me due to a mistake I made I told her I wanted to close my account after 37 years her response "okay we will get that process started"  and when a questioned her customer service she began to blame me and that I should have been more responsible, etc etc.  I was shocked that they were willing to let me go without a "let me refund those charges and let me fix this for you".  As days passed I found out that she failed to tell me EVERYTHING it takes to close the account and how long the process actually takes.  All I got is "this will take about 7 to 10 business days"  she left out I would have to verify my address via a letter they sent in the mail, send that back wait for them to close it than take 45 DAYS to receive my cashier check.  So here I am over 2 months later with not check.  
Now if you NEVER EVER have to deal with the call center and can build a relationship with your local bank; you can't find a better bank!

Yep, this bank just bought out my bank about 2 months ago.  I had been a customer of that bank since the mid 1970's.  I am moving to a new bank due to HORROBLE service, treatment, and overall rudeness.  I always thought Canadians were sweet and kind.  I don't think that anymore.
I requested a copy of a bank statement from last year.  They told me 10 days.  It's been 22 days.  They told me to go to the branch if I wanted it as they would get around to sending it when they got around to it.  Rude, rude, rude!
They also have a fee schedule I found excessive.  There's a fee or charge for many, many more things than my old bank charged for.
I can't wait to be gone from there, but I have some automatic payments I have to get moved, first.

Wanted to transfer my 401K ($175,000) into a CD IRA they had advertised in the bank. I was told I had to talk to their financial advisor. I told him what I wanted and he said the had annuities. I told him I didn't want an annuity. About 10 minutes into his sales pitch I realized he couldn't sell me the CD. This sure seems like bait and switch which is illegal. Told me nobody has ever lost money, guaranteed by the state and showed how much I could have. I knew he was lying. I asked him if I could just have my money transferred there and then decide. He told me no. I hate this bank and am planning to close my account. There is one bank you can go to and you don't hear. Would you like to talk to our financial advisor? NO !! It only takes a minute. NO !! It's free. NO !! Every bank has the same line. I miss the days when the commercial bank and investment bank were required to be in separate buildings.

Rip off bank stay away fees galore fees on top of monthly fees ! You opt out on debit card they jam it thru to get more fees ! No help they will close your account after 10 years because they do not like your attitude. In the way they steal from you and not let you no was a great bank when it was just Harris bank . A joke with fees monthly fees now $15 daily fee on top of the fee over 2 cents is $38 . Your feed on top of uncollected funds . A item ck you don’t write fees are $48 . Customer service horrible they lie cheat steal . Promise you a refund then don’t do it . Not very bright people at the bank no help I strongly advise to not bank with any bmo . You will be sorry they only want the rich people. And they get mad when you complain if they rip you off if they don’t like your attitude what a joke if you stole from them you be in jail . But it’s ok for them to steal from you a license to steal . The feds must look into their fees and they do not follow the law if you opt out of a debit purchase to be declined instead they will jam thru a small purchase to make more fees . And hold your funds longer to make more fees . Use to be a great bank on the 90s when it was Harris bank . Another to big to fail . But fee crazy serious if you want to be ripped off stay with them you will be fees to death . Not a good bank stay with. A credit union. Bank more caring look for better options . You will be sad when they fee you to death . And do not follow federal banking laws . Not lieing do not want see others ripped off . Or fees to death and get your account closed without them telling you . Find a better bank their their bmo in my opinion is a horrible horrible ruthless bank fee happy . Thanks only the truth

Charge fees for counting money put into business checking accounts.

Loans are impossible unless your business falls into their “normal” business criteria.     Our business is seasonal and does not meet their normal criteria even with excellent revenue stream and credit.  

If you want great service and a bank that fits everyone’s needs—- go to a credit union!!!!
You won’t be disappointed.

Bank tellers are always polite at Harris, but that is the only positive I can say for Harris.

I had the opportunity to visit this BearValley Branch and the people there are so friendly they assist so good and open my account, BMO has free accounts and fees for everything are less than other Banks I’m so happy to have my new account without tricks!!!! And hide fees

We have two homes, one in Indianapolis and one in Sarasota Florida.  When we first movedbto Sarasota from Indy, we were unsure what to expect.  Surprisingly the branch in Sarasota Florida by far exceeded our expectations.  We have always had a great relationship with the branch in Indianapolis. We honestly never could have imagined our Indianapolis experience to be topped. We can honestly say the branch in Sarasota Florida is the best bank ever. For all Parents and Grandparents, this is the most professional and curtious environment for all your banking and multiple  individual trust needs!

We have been waiting over two months to open a small business account with no response. On the personal side, opened account over two months ago. Account manager filled out the forms wrong so we did not get our Credit Cards. Ask them to fix the situation. After 2 months no response.

Recently moved to area & decided to open acct here. Awful. Had to wait to receive starter checks in mail. Told 7 days. After 3 weeks nothing. Was not sent Welcome package, free checks, telephone banking pin until I called back. The telephone customer service reps are rude and extremely unhelpful. Recently called and left 3 messages on bank officer voicemail regarding large deposit. 5 days later still no call. As soon as my outstanding checks clear, this account will be closed. Awful awful banking experience. I am a retired banking professional and this the worst incompetence I have seen. Stay away!

When my mom was sick, when she was in the hospice and when she passed, the staff were wonderful with making everything I needed to do easy.  They explained anything that was needed from me in an easy and friendly way.  They made exceptions to make things move quicker when I need them.  I live out the country and am the only living family for my mothers.  It was people like this that made a very difficult time manageable.  My mom went to them for over 20 years and they were always great with her.  If I come back to Green Bay, they will be my bank of choice.

I have had a savings account at BMO for a majority of my life, starting as a young child and on into my adult life now. Every visit to BMO was a pleasant experience and I have never really had a problem. If their was a problem it usually was resolved immediately by the friendly staff at BMO. I opened a checking account at BMO a little over a year ago, before I left for college because I knew that this bank was a reliable, convenient, and friendly place to bank. The staff at the Minocqua Wisconsin BMO started a new checking and savings account for me that was meant for students, so I wouldn't need any minimum balance for these accounts and I wouldn't have to pay any extra service fees. Just this past week I noticed that BMO was charging me a $5 service fee for the past three months. I immediately went to my local bank to figure out what this fee was for. A banker was not available at the time so I left my name and number. They said a banker would contact me later that day. No call. Three days later a banker finally called me. I explained to her my issue and how when I opened this account I was told that I wouldn't need any minimum balance and wouldn't be charged any extra fees. She stated "I don't believe that at all", "There is no way that anyone would have told you that", and other statements like so. She showed me no respect and treated me like a child.  I do no appreciate this type of treatment from a place that claims to be very professional and friendly to their clients. I felt as though this banker did not care at all for my concerns. She was extremely rude and disrespectful. I will no longer be doing business at this bank due to this unpleasant experience and other past incidents that I have experienced recently.

I signed on a month ago with my elderly father to handle his affairs.  I told them I knew nothing, needed checks, change of address, debit card and online access.
Today 9-9-16 I am still trying to monitor his account.  Who gives you online access and you cannot view your account.  Who changes personal information knowing(because you were told) the client has no checks, no debit card only to not receive anything the first month and go back being told you had to ask for it.  Going on 60 days, cannot pay bills without withdrawing cash. Can't close savings because aft have to be transferred. Called and asked if I needed to ask for a debit card, was told yes.  Went back this month after not receiving checks, to find, they had not been ordered.
People look at you when you admit you are operating blind and need information. Just to be ignored. My father is 93 years old. Need I say more.

I have been banking with Harris Bank since 2010. I have always had outstanding service with the bank in Kokomo Indiana.  I give Harris Bank a 5 star rating in my town.

I would like to say thank you for the incredible, top notch customer service Megan Allen has provided to my dad and I both times we visited BMO.  She was knowledgeable, helpful, patient, kind and fun.  Megan was the total package and made our banking easy.  My dad is 92 and hard of hearing and Megan was so kind and friendly with him.  She laughed at all of his jokes and made him feel important.  You are very lucky to have Megan on your staff.  She is the total package!!!  Thank you!

I have used BOA and CHASE for a few years, their branch are always a horrible waiting que. Last year I passed by the this bank and their staff is very nice and the branch looks new and spacious. Their customer service is also very responsive.

I have had numerous banks due to buy outs Barnet Bank,Huntington Bank, Waucovia, Wells Fargo. Of all of them this bank gives the best service. Anthony and Louis at Tampa are very friendly and treat you more like a friend than just a customer. I recommend this bank highly. Other banks I've had LLoyds London, Citibank Chicago, American Bank Chicago, Elgin National, Cardunal Savings and Loan,Elgin Dundee Il., Sun Trust Tampa

This bank touts itself as being wealth management experts and providing account analysis and advisement to help clients meet their financial goals. In fact, at the Seattle branch, the opposite occurs; no analysis or advising is provided, investment accounts are managed very passively without any adjustment to follow market trends, and customers' stated financial needs and goals are ignored. One only finds this out after years of lackluster performance, with the investment dept. director unable to respond to concerns, year after year. They do not track individual accounts on even an annual basis, so they have no idea what's going on in each account!  There is no oversight of the investment dept., nor any accountability to higher-ups. The trust management specialists are poorly informed about trust law (including those who are trust lawyers!), and commit errors and illegalities due to ignorance. The trust staff seem to chronically be functioning in an emergency, panic mode, struggling to keep up with workloads and the steady exodus of dissatisfied clients. This was the situation when the Seattle branch was a small, local bank, and deteriorated after being acquired by the Harris, then BMO. Just when you think it can't get any worse, it does.

I have only been a customer of this bank for a year and as such have very little use for the facility itself. I do 90% of my banking online. However, recently I had to go in to get a large amount of cash and the teller whom I dealt with at was Connie Todd. She was the most unpleasant and arrogant person I have ever experienced in any bank in my 50 years of banking. Snooty, unfriendly, officious and absolutely quietly RUDE. She needs to be given either a bottle of Happy Pills or the Boot - one or the other. She should take a long look at herself in a mirror someday!!

This bank just now let through a scam with a fake bank draft. They must know it was a scam since we explained to them the whole story, but they didn't say a word, no warning and we fell into the trap, wiring back the money to the scammer. A loss of $61K. And thee still claim that they exercised due diligence! Beware: they don't care.

This bank in Green Valley, AZ is so friendly and helpful.  As soon as I walk in I am personally greeted by name.  Everyone is great!  I will never change banks.  I give them two thumbs up!

I became a BMO Harris customer 3 years ago when I moved to Wisconsin. The folks here have helped me in numerous ways. They helped me incorporate my business, filing paperwork with the state, etc. They showed me how to merge my business and personal online accounts to a single logon. They also helped me with financial planning. And then when it came time for me to buy my house, they came through with a great interest rate and kept on top of everything that needed to be done for closing. The staff actually knows me by name, even though I don't go to the bank often. I feel good each time I walk through the doors. Very friendly, very professional.
