Dear Ricky Parks and the Refinance Team of Bank of America,
Thank you so much for educating me on how to do my part in stimulating the economy.  Please let me explain.  I currently have a 30 yr. fixed rate FHA loan with a 6.75% interest rate and a line of credit with you, Bank of America.  Back at the end of September 2010 I followed our wise President’s advice and decided to do my part and refinance my loan.  Hey, at least I could get rid of the $50 a month payment for mortgage insurance, I thought.  So I contacted BOA, the bank that already owns my loan, with the high hopes and naïveté, that I and my wife could actually refinance our loan with you, BOA.  BOA assigned Ricky Parks, loan officer, to my refinance.  Ricky was a nice gentlemen and very polite.  Quite simply, a pleasure to work with.  I told Ricky I wanted to do a refi. on a 15 yr. fixed rate mortgage, which would cost me an additional $150 dollars a month and save me tens of thousands in interest.   Ricky ran my wife’s and I credit and we were in the 690 range.  Great that meant we could qualify, but then we hit our first hurdle, my wife, a full time teacher, had only been working for the district for a year and a half and therefore we could not count her income.  Although, you could definitely hold her debt against me.  It is a good thing the genius switch is never off, because I had the brilliant idea of going solo on the new loan.  Armed with my info Ricky went back and plugged the numbers in and BAM!  I was preapproved.  Ricky sent me the good faith estimate on 9/30/2010 and with the giving of my debit card number; we locked our rate and were on our way to refinancing.  At the time I thought the $500 upfront and $5,131 in closing costs was a bit excessive, but hey the tens of thousands I would save on interest would be worth it in the long haul.  After the money was drawn from my account the hurdles started lining up in front of me.  Having been a hurdler in high school, I welcomed the challenge.  First came the usual easy hurdles, pay stubs, w-2’s, a survey, 2 mo. reserve.  The reserve I thought was a bit odd since I already pay you every month for the loans I have with you.  I collected all the paper work and emailed it to my pal Ricky, loan officer.  Well guess what? My accounts didn’t have the reserves in it but I had the money in my account at the time we were talking because my wife received her first full time pay check at the end of September, but my checking and savings statement is taken from 17th of the month to 17th of the month.  So July and August’s statements did not reflect our new income.  Ricky assured me that if I could get a 60 day certified statement from my bank then everything would be kosher.  Jumped that hurdle and got it in, but then came the next hurdle my income.  I make $30 an hour, which grosses to 2400 bi-weekly.  In January and February I took time off and worked with a friend at Le Tourneau University in Longview, Texas.  My pay stubs reflected these weeks off so the awesome underwriting team readjusted my monthly income to reflect that 6 week absences.  Uhoh!  Now I don’t make enough to qualify for the loan because we can’t count the $5000 I made while working for the university, since I hadn’t been employed with  them for 2 yrs.  Great.  So we decided to write a letter saying I took an extended vacation and that was why my income was different.  Wrote it, sent it, we were good to go and then the next hurdle my debt ratio is too high.   With Ricky’s advice I was told to defer my student loan payment for a year and that would bring my debt ratio down to acceptable.  We are at the end of October now, so I quickly contact my student loan provider and get my loan deferred.  As soon as I get the email, I forward it on to Ricky, loan officer and all is good again.  Of course until the next hurdle, the appraisal.  County has me appraised at $159000, you appraise me at $145000 and I owe you $114700 for my  current loan with you, BOA.  You know what that means right?  I’m above the 80% loan to value and that requires me to give you, BOA, an additional $50 for PMI each month on this new mortgage.  No problem, except now my debt ratio is too high and the underwriter is adjusting my income to reflect the absence of pay in my pay stubs.  Which means I don’t qualify for the loan.  Now it is December and I ask Ricky to try for a 30 yr. fixed rate refi., but he persuades me to give him another shot and let him try and push it through again.  He tries, but to no avail.  The underwriter is not on my side.  Now we are at New Years week and Ricky tells me unless I have proof of $2600 in my accounts for 60 days there is no way I will get a refinance of any kind through BOA.  Awesome, I think.  I just helped stimulate the economy and don’t even own the appraisal I paid for.  So thank you BOA.  Thank you for teaching me that I cannot refinance to a lower rate on a loan when I already pay you at a much higher interest rate.  It makes sense.  Why take less money from someone if you can keep getting more out of them.  Thank you for teaching me about customer loyalty.  It lets me know that all my on time, never late, often early payments on both the loans I have with you, has not gone unnoticed and is appreciated.  Thank you for also teaching me how to take a clients money 1st before calculating debt ratio’s and income so I can squeeze whatever I can out of them before I turn them down.  Thank you for the most awesome, unstressful process possible and dragging it on for over 3 months.  Thank you for making sure that I missed out on the low interest rates that were present when I locked my rate.   Thank you.
In all honesty this is unacceptable business practice and I want to know how you are going to make it right with me?  I will forward this on to every person at BOA whose e-mail I can find.  I will do this daily until I am a satisfied customer.
Sincerely,
B.S.

On November 22,2023, I went to the BOA to deposit 2 checks into my Estate account. I stood in line in the Business line. I had been told previously that estate accounts were considered business accounts. The bank teller told people in line ahead of me that she was unable to guarantee something.
When it was my time, she told me that he (the bank teller manager) moved the woman in front of me to another window and now she had to work both lines. She continued to service people in the other line who came in after me. The bank teller manager told her to wait on me next, but she refused. I held up my checks to get her attention and said that I had business. She said that the bank teller at the end of the counters was waiting on business customers. I asked if she wanted me to stand behind that woman. She said if I didn't mind. I moved and stood behind her. Ms. Queen BT (Queen Bank Teller) then waited on one person at the drive thru and then came to the station where I was standing. She stood there and watched the bank teller wait on the woman who I was standing behind. She then walked back to her station and waited on people who came in at least 30 minutes after me. The bank teller manager then told the bank teller to wait on me next as he had told Queen BT. I was finally waited on after being there for at least 40 minutes. I do not know her name but, she is the oldest bank teller I have ever seen at this location.

Unbelievable! Customer service is really slow.  It seems they have been on training.  On average, it took 30 minutes for one customer on depositing or withdrawing money.  Need to take into consideration!

I am amazed that people are being so critical.  I find that the staff here work as not only bank tellers; but interpreters and counselors. They are beyond personable and helpful.

There is such a diverse group of people who bank here. Its part of the special charm.

1 bank teller at front counter, Friday afternoon 3:30 pm!

by Youhavetobekiddingme, Jun. 18, 2021

I went to this  bank on a Friday afternoon, June 18th 3:30 pm. One bank teller at the window! A man at counter, getting money orders! Teller had to do twice! 38 minute wait! No other tellers came to help. Line  of 7 build up. The what I assumed was branch manager started working the floor, asking what type of banking we needed. 6 out of 7 had to wait for the lone teller. Branch manager could have opened up a window to assist, but proceeded to be a  “cheerleader”  to us in line, making small talk, asking his our day was. For a National  bank to have one bank teller at a window on a Friday is concerning, disappointing and I will never be back. Worst customer service I have seen in many years. I saw 3 employees and only 1 was working to the bone. Other two walked around in high heels.

I went to rent a locker today. rented one and items did not fit in it so  requested for bigger locker available. we were denied extra 15 minutes of the time on top of that Supervisor was extremely rude, nasty, unprofessional. to the point that i had to curb her  rude behavior. it was appalling to interact with unfriendly, rude  supervisor. I sincerely would like to write a letter to the regional manager of BOA in Kirkland area. Our son is flying out of state tomorrow there was  no intention to help or of courtesy .

Bank manager horrible. Had checking account hacked and said she could do nothing,to us to call the fraud department who said they could do nothing also. Tried to close account, they said "why"! Tried to freeze account. They said they would but didn't.  I thought they were suppose to help with these situations. Very disgusted! Will find a bank that cares. No customer service  anymore.

My $1,200 check finally came in. I'm a Chase Private Client and I have a household account at Bank of America Enfield. Used my Chase ATM tried to deposit the check to Chase at BA ATM.  That didn't work. Deposited it using my BA ATM card.
Yesterday I tried to transfer the $1,200 to Chase which was a long involved process which ended up taking 55 minutes. I called BA and asked a CSR in Virginia that took me through this long process one question after another and the legal specification that went on for pages and pages that I skimmed though and agreed to then there was another problem and another problem when I register for a same day transfer and when it was all done I was told the transfer will cost my $30. I was told when I checked the transfer there was a line there about the transfer fee. I never saw it I read some much information earlier I never saw the fee information and as a Chase Private Client I've never been charged for anything.  It remained my about three years ago BA charged my $30 to take money out of my account - that never made sense to me. And I never, never transfer money out of BA again. Never.

I have a dual perspective on BofA, they offer a really NICE online platform, very useful tools as the internal transfers (BofA to BofA) and high Zelle limits, high ATM limits and very nice Customer Service. I was a BofA Client 2018-2019 and kicked out due Risk dept, No surprise, they are very delicate with high volume transactions or high risk business. Understandable. I can live without them. As a Business owner/ account holder i had an amazing Online Banking and App experience but a terrible branch experience, all their offices are crowded all the time in Miami Area, products and personnel are really good but insufficient for some business needs, I've never used any merchant services from them but seems to be one of the best in the market. I've never felt the difference between move 10k and 500k in transactions or balance, never been "upgraded" or recognized, always at the same tier.

This branch has gone over and beyond to fulfill all our expectations, especially through this epidemic when so many banks and businesses have been forced or have chosen to close. This office has remained opened for servicing their customers and non customers in a very busy time.  STAFF AND MANAGER have shown patience and knowledge displayed to the public by answering questions and being available to carry on with daily transactions as efficient and helpful as possible when the public has not in return been anywhere near as understanding when having to wait in long lines at no fault of the office staff. Let's all be more considerate to our Essential workers who are working hard to service our banking needs during these times. Signed, The lady in line witnessing what is going with the rude customer next to me. THANK YOU B of A PASO!! I. appreciate you being open !

This is the second incident.

A month ago,I was told that my money (of $2616 which was supposed to be used to pay rent for home) would be sent in a check (instead of depositing the funds back into my account).

I was told by the bank manager, that I would recieve the check in 7 days which I never recieved.

First, I couldn't understand why they couldn't just deposit the money back into the account.

I spoke to cooperate and was told "if you don't recieve the check in the mail in another two weeks, we will print you out another check".

Now, my rent is due again. I am in panic mold because I've never been late on my rent or given a 3 day notice.

I was slightly relieved that I would be able to go to the bank to get the check.

Yesterday, I get a call from Fara F. (from cooprate), telling me that the bank manager and business manager consultant from this branch had been arreted for fraudulent activity!

I explained that I need my money. My son and I could be homeless if I don't pay my rent which is already late.

Fara F. from cooperate, could only offer an apology. She also stated, they have been getting calls from others as well but "if we can send you another check, it would be 7-15 days".

If? What kind of inconsiderate mess is this? It's not my fault an employee stole my money and now my family have to suffer?

Bank of America is the worse bank ever. My mother warned me about Bank of America.

Think twice about this branch and the overall company ethics and policies.

THIS COULD BE YOU!

Once u get help they are nice BUT to get to a customer service representative is hell, if u call branch they don't answer, u get recorder that they are busy w other customers the recorder gave u other banking options via automatic system only,  and if those don't apply to u and u don't pick one option the recorder says goodbye, no if u like to keep holding or a call back option. I just called to be courteous and cancel my 1pm appt. Bec. Yesterday would have been an hour wait to see a cust. Reo. Bank of America shame on you such a large bank, I will stick to my Wells Fargo w short lines and no wait or reasonable wait to see a cust Serv rep. My mother is the one that is a bank of America customer, I will NEVER, each time I go there for or w my mother it is the same for YEARS.Time they learn something from their reviews, DAH!!

Went to bank today stuck in traffic due to road work.  Got to bank at 1 minute before 1pm.  Another customer and i were within 3ft of the door. We see a guy rushing to the door and locks the door.  He says were closed.   Told him we were stuck in traffic due to the road work on Moraga way he didn't care.  I look at the clock on the outside of the building  it says 2 minutes to 1pm.  I get back in my car and the radio announces its 1pm.  I guess the bank can't tell time. Been a customer for 20 years.  No more soon as Chase opens across the street I,m moving my account.
