I've been with US Bank for a little more than 2 years now, and I have never encountered the kind of friendly, efficient service that I look forward to every time I bank at this branch. Always smiling, always conversational, and, above all, always professional.

When I plan a trip to the bank, I purposefully choose this branch over the brick and mortar US Bank just a few blocks down the street.  I haven't been let down yet.

this is the worst bank i have ever dealt with! i never expected to be verbally abused or interrupted by a bank manager! The bank charged me extra charges that 2 employees promised me would never happen! This bank will slowly find any excuse to take money away from you! Dont give them your time of day!

This is or was my newest of 2checking n 2savings accounts @ Citi, Chase, Union, asnd this USbank.  I closed the checking acct after 7 months due to [increasing this month] many types of fees left and right, unscrupulous practices, and their treatment of you the client like a faceless numbered account.  Example 1:  If a check [electronic or paper]drawn against your account comes in 12noon today, you will only be able to see it after 10PM, that day yet it will IMMEDIATELY hit/grab funds from your account.  Example2: A $400 check I threw into a friends BofA account one Friday night @ 6:10PM, hit my USBank checking account that same night [nothing online viewable till Monday PM though!] I made an ATM deposit to my USBank account Sat 10AM, THEN got charged $44 for "being overdrawn by $23 on Friday but depositing funds only 3 days later on Monday".  In other words their fast with their garbbing but slow w/ the customers side of things.  I believe they have more stringent/shrewd rules compared to BofA.  Very unlike Citi, Chase, Union where the customer service and  bank personnel are friendly courteous etc, you have the same day/24hrs to rectify/make a deposit by counter OR ATM, and no wacky fees get charged.  EXAMPLE3: On top of that, I closed my account in good order: zero balance to checking, $1 into savings just to keep it alive so I don't get charged $5 each time you walk in to cash a clients USbank check.  YET Here we are 2 weeks later I get a notice of being charged $33 overdraft fee for some automatic payment thing going through PLUS another $10 fee to take the $1 from my checking to go into the checking overdraft.  I am now on hold w/ USbank customer service for 11minute52seconds to ask them whats up.  OR I could go waste more time and walk into the branch to handle this.  Worst uncaring regular-person bank ever.  Citibank sems to be the best in all aspects. To finish off, I have now been on hold for 'the next available US banker" for 28minutes 46 seconds!  BOOO

I have been with US Bank since they bought Fist Star in Kansas City,  This bank has gotten worse as time goes on.  They place ridiculous holds on deposits, make mistakes and make you pay overdraft fees that would make a loan shark blush.

I have been extremely ill since 2007 and have had them destroy me financially.  It's easier for them to charge overdraft fees that it is for them to loan money.  This type of business model is what stifling the recovery is.

US Banks 800# customer service is the worst!  Very long wait times and most agents could care less about you as a customer.  I've had a couple of good agents over the years, but they are the exception.  Obviously using skills they learned elsewhere.  I have to say though that the Tracy Branch has one employee (Precious) that is amazing.  Super friendly and helpful.  She went out of her way to resolve an issue I had with their online banking department.  This was not her job or responsibility, yet she made the time and effort to help.  I was about to close my accounts until she rescued their business.  It's employees like Precious that make all the difference!

Worst bank, ever!!! If you have the opportunity to open an account elsewhere, please do so because you will be in a world of inconvenience if you open an account here. They are extremely inconsiderate of their account holders, and do not care what dire situation they may place them in financially. I had funds held in my account while I was NOT notified up front, and the individual who was supposed to be taking care of the situation, Carlos, did not even have the consideration to call me back, regardless of the fact that I had left several messages for him that day. They left me without access to my funds for a week, having not even enough money for food or gas. Wouldn't you be at least a little considerate of a person when they are in such a dire situation? I have never had such a negative experience with a bank, and I am so glad to be closing my account there at the end of the week. I would suggest a more formidable institution, such as Chase Bank. I was banking with them for years before moving to US Bank, and I really don't know why I changed banks. Safe to say I will be back with Chase by the week's end

This is a convenient location and a fantastic branch. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and always remembers our faces. It's so much better to get prompt help in person. The manager Stephanie is very helpful in situations that require more attention.

I have banked at US Bank (specifically the Ward Parkway branch in Kansas City) for eight years.  I can't WAIT to not bank there ever again (as soon as the last checks clear...)
 - For starters, they have been charging us a %6.90 surcharge for internet banking for two years.  We've asked them on six different occasions to remove the charge and they've always agreed but it's still there every month.
 - I took out a Home Equity line of credit there a couple years ago.  Told them we were only going to need it for a few months and ended up paying it off in about seven months.
 - When I went to close it because we were refinancing our house (not through US Bank, thank goodness), they charged us $500 to close the account.  AN account that we paid off in good faith and weren't using!
 - The branch sales manager said there was "nothing they could do" because it was in the contract that they charge up to $500 for early termination.  Funny how they never brought that up when I said I wouldn't need the loan for >1 year.  The best part is that IN THE SAME CONTRACT it says that US Bank can at any time, remove any fees even if they are in writing and in the customer's best interest.  This did not seem to disuade them in collecting the $500 (it's like they get a commission on fees or something).
 - The person I dealt with - initials AJH - was rude, dismissive and seemed totally ambivalent to "my problem."  Of course, his bank's tactics were my problem.

I find the ethics of US Bank - at least this branch - to be what the general public seems to feel about the banking industry right now.  There are good and ethical bankers, but the ones that will do anything to anyone to scheme out a few extra dollars are giving the industry a bad name.

If you need a home equity line of credit, a checking account or even a free toaster, I recommend going elsewhere.  I sent an e-mail to their corporate office to complain, but I'm pretty sure that it will be treated with the same disinterest with which the local branch treated the complaint. As soon as the last check clears I will guiltlessly close the accounts I have there and happily walk away, poorer but wiser from the experience.

Hemant is marvelous - always remembers me by name; Jan(?)is funny - she's very motherly.  There's another male teller there that is my daughter's favorite - very good customer service - always with a smile.  The manager is knowledgeable and helpful.  They make suggestions to help US even if it isn't always in the bank's best interest.  Of course, we continue to be loyal customers so it turns out best for both of us.

We banked there for several years. The staff at our local branch were always very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. However, the bank itself had a very nasty habit of just arbitrarily helping itself to my money randomly. They would claim a payment is due on the account so they took $x.xx out. They never did it on the same date. They would oftentimes take it out right after I made a payment. A few weeks ago, they took a payment out, and then took another one out for the same thing the next day. The second one was A very small amount like $6.37. I called and asked why they took two payments out and got the usual double-speak from the operator at the 800 number. When these "payments" cause an overdraft they are extremely quick to hit your account with OD charges. This happened a couple of weeks ago and it took that account down to a positive $1.00 but they still charged me a $35 OD fee anyway. That was the straw that broke the camel's back. US Bank is a bunch of thieves. There are MUCH better places to bank.

People can carp all they want about customer service. I have found in 36 years as a CPA, the individuals who carp are the ones with no money and the biggest trouble makers.

The staff at US Bank on Lagae Road consists of the friendliest, most polite customer service people I've ever met. The staff at the 1st and University Branch is a close second.

Just spoke with the teller manager, who apparently very much does not understand the definition of customer service. I work in the finance industry as the investor relations coordinator and have dealt with my fair share of frustrating situations involving clients. But, not in my life would I ever consider being blatantly rude and condescending to them!

No experience I have ever had with any bank, will ever top this instance of utter immaturity and deficiency. Get it together.

I've been banking with U S Bank (and another bank that merged with US Bank many years ago) since the 1970's. I've always had excellent service, but then I don't let my account get overdrawn. Overdrafts are not the bank's responsibility - it is the customer's responsibility to maintain their records and balances or pay the fees that are due.
I'm always greeted with hellos when I enter the branch and I believe everyone there even knows my name. So personal and friendly.
All banks are changing fee structures and this is not exclusive to U S Bank. I'm pleased to recommend the James Village branch of U S Bank.

Bank Branch Manager "Stella" needs a complete training course on customer service. Stay away from this bank if you know what is good for you. They will close your account with limited or no warning and send the information to the Credit Bureaus leaving you months to correct their mistakes or aggressive tactics.

I would like to note that every complaint listed here, is regarding another branch of US Bank, most even in other states. The Us Bank located in Mt. Juliet, TN in the Kroger at Providence is far and away the best bank anywhere. They are a fine group of professionals, who treat customers with respect and will always do everything possible to resolve any issue in a fair and understanding manor. I highly recommend banking here.

Over draft charges
 1star Overall Rating
by Debbra73, May. 13, 2011

I have been a customer for a long time. I have encountered a few over draft charges and some they did reimburse me for. But recently, I went into a negative .43 and was charged $33.00 for that, and then two other came through which were less then $10.00 and I got charged $10.00 for each of them. I find that ridiculous. I do all my banking online and follow everything there so it's hard to keep track of what's pending and what's not.
Not to mention this whole ordeal with being charged a monthly fee unless you get direct deposit or transfer funds into a savings. I have a business account and they wouldn't consider that as a direct deposit? Come on now. Not to mention I have 2 checking accounts and 4 savings accounts. And then they want to charge me $53.00 in over draft fees??? RIPOFF
I will be closing my accounts this week and moving to another bank.

I am appauled that the manager at the Ferndale, WA branch would rather I close my accounts (in excess of $350,000.00) rather than to try and work with me.  I am not a risk to this bank.  I have been a customer for over 10 years and felt that the manager there could have cared less if I ever came back.  What ever happened to custoemr service??  I'm sure if you talk to the manager there, she'll know who you are talking about.  There is no way she should be in that position - she does not know how to deal with peole and certainly does not consider the banks best interest.  Her main theme was to prove her point, with no condiderations.  So be it.  There are other banks in town and I'll share my VERY NEGATIVE experience with everyone who will listen.
