The staff is eager to help, but lack knowledge and attention to detail.  It took 3 tries to get my checks right and then the check printing company developed an attitude about NOT helping me.
On another occasion I had to deposit several checks to my checking so that I could write a large check against those deposits.  Instead of using my deposit slip, the teller "helped" me out by depositing it without the correct deposit slip into my SAVINGS!  Naturally the checked bounced and the company who tried to cash the bad check took me for a crook.  This little fiasco ruined my reputation in addition to running up bounced check fees.  No thanks for the help.  I should have gone online to verify the (false) information I was given about my checking account balance.  He quoted me my savings account balance as my checking account balance.  I rely on my bank to correct any oversights, not to compound them and confuse me, resulting in wasted time and extra expenses. This is not a reliable bank who will double check the details and protect you from disaster.  They may even lead you in the wrong direction.    Disgruntled

The big bank feel is everywhere here. I got this account when they bought Washington Mutual. Once the change over happened several things are very difficult. One all transactions are entered as memos, not real transactions. After getting used it, it works ok but it is still confusing trying to figure out how much is really in there or if there is a problem or is it just an uncleared memo. The other thing that was frustrating was that they tried to get you make changes to your account to receive "new and improved services". What they did not tell you was that when you did this, all of the no-charge features on my account would also be improved to the new freakishly high fees for everything! I was really mad at the deception. Boy is big bank bad! I was able to just close one acct and I set up direct deposit to reduce the fees on my other account. I have opened another account at my local credit union to see if I can deal with not having all the branches and ATM available. With Chase, having local branches is not really important in that most of the things I need to resolve, it requires a call to the 800 number anyway. There are a couple of positive things and that is the app for my phone works great and the photo deposit from my phone is great although I am not sure I am comfortable with it yet. Their online banking is great as well. If they were friendly and easy to deal with and their fees were not so expensive, I would probably to try to stay with them but can not deal with it.

I recently went to New York City for a long weekend.  I live in Washington DC, where there are no Chase branches.  I had a check drawn off Chase Bank given to me by one of my clients.  I went to a Chase branch at 601  8th Avenue.  I attempted to cash the check but learned that I needed 2 IDs and I only had 1.  I really needed the cash.  The teller must have felt sorry for me because she called over one of the service guys (Phillip Vargas) to see if he could help me.  He was really nice.  He called my client to verify that it was okay to cash.  While he was on the phone, the branch manager Brian Vagell came by - the teller must have told him what was going on.  He too was really nice.  After getting the okay from my client, the manager took my check and ID and did the transaction for me.  I didn't even have to get out of my chair to get back in line!  He came back with my cash and gave me his and the service reps business cards and said to see them if ever I needed assistance.  I have never received this level of service, not even from my own bank.  It's wonderful when people take the time to think outside of the box rather than be mindless robots.  I hope Chase makes it down to DC one day.

Went in to help my 93 year old deaf mother have on line banking so we could set up bill pay. Should have done it myself at home but my Mom wanted to go. They set it up but put in either the wrong ID or wrong Password. Now cannot access and their CSR for the web is useless. Found something Bank of America does much better.

The recruiter Dominique Acosta for JP Morgan Chase at the Utica Square location was crabby and rude with me on the phone.  I applied for a teller position.  I asked her a simple yes or no question, and she became irritated and instead of giving me a yes or no answer, she gave some long, drawn out answer.  Wow Dominique, let's be friendly and show some professionalism!  Please adjust your attitude, or get a different job.  I think I will look elsewhere.

When I moved to Austin, I had three checking accounts.  One was from my previous city, one from a bank that gave me a free merchant account for my small business and a local one to hold me over.  Then I walked into Chase and my life simplified with the help of Chris Johnston, my personal banker.  He showed me how they could give me the same deal with my merchant account, personal account, my chase credit cards--all of it appears on one online statement I can access anywhere.  I am a travel nanny so when I have questions, I need answers fast.  Chris is always there for a quick phone call and replies promptly to my emails.  Once I had a charge I thought totally unfair and he went and got it refunded.  Turns out I had misunderstood something but I liked the way Chase thinks--gives you the benefit of the doubt that "they" didn't make something clear.  In today's world where we are often just a number--Chase stands up to the test of customer service.  As I travel, I find myself in Chase banks all over the world and as of now, all of them have had excellent customer service, answering my questions, making feel I had a personal person in banking anywhere Chase does business.  I have high expectations when it comes to business and I am happy to say, Chase more than passes the mark of excellance.  Chris Johnston has made me a believer in Chase!

We recently moved back to Jersey City, after 15 years away. We opened several accounts at the Christopher Columbus branch, and I have to say we were really pleased with the staff there (especially Rani). We have had personal calls, suggested ways in which we could save money (that did not involve any pressure or extra costs for services), and every time we have had a problem, the staff there has solved it pleasantly.

This branch has recently opened, and is closer to our home. My experience with them has been so rewarding. Recently, I had to get some cash, and it was a fair amount, due to presents for the grandchildren. I'm over 65yrs. old, and was alone. The first thing the teller who handled me did was advise me of a sweepstakes I could enter for free, which I appreciated, and the best thing that happened was because the banker who handled me, seemed to sense that having that much cash on my person might not be the safest way to travel. Mr. Kellogg asked what my plans were for the day, and when I said I was doing errands, he responded with, "I hope this one is your last one before going home". I said "No", and he didn't push, but his worried look gave me the cause to stop and reconsider my plans. I drove home and put the cash away before continuing my errands. The personnel in this branch have been consistently warm and welcoming, but the extra concern has prompted me to take the time to give them the praise they deserve.

I went to this branch with my great aunt, who was seeking assistance from her bank to help her find any assets from old copies of stocks and bonds. We arrived at about 4:30PM, only to find about 5-6 people waiting to speak with one rep standing at a computer by the back door. This was the person who was helping my great aunt, and who had requested she bring a copy of my great uncle's death certificate. We waited about 10 minutes or so, when a woman came over and asked if we could give her the death certificate to copy for him. I said I wanted to speak with this rep and waited a few minutes more. We were called over (in front of other who were waiting a long, long time), and I asked to see the file. Immediately, he started brushing us off and said he had no copies, and he was only helping my great aunt. When I asked what letters he was sending out and for what purpose, he stated he was only helping and didn't want to get involved of our disagreement. What disagreement was he referring to?? I indicated I had been working with my great aunt for about 6-8 months, and wanted to see the file. He told me he had no file, he had no papers of my great aunt's, and he was only trying to help her find any old assets.  What??  I then asked him why he needed to have my great uncle's death certificate, especially being he had no papers of my aunts. AT NO TIME DID ANY MANAGER COME OVER AND ASK WHAT WAS GOING ON!  What??  Why was this "person" getting involved in my great aunt's business AND if he was only trying to help, why wouldn't he answer my aunt's question as to what happened to her papers and files!!  This is extremely frightening to think that a bank would be taking advantage of an elderly person, raking her in with kindness and pleasantries . . . and claims that they have shredded her papers and copies of HER DOCUMENTS!!  Why was he asking for a copy of my great uncle's death certificate IF IN FACT HE SHREDDED ALL COPIES OF HER DOCUMENTS????  Why is it THAT NO MANAGER APPROACHED US and asked what was going on?  This was going on in front of numerous customers, and our "business" was being discussed in front of "the public"!!  I'm not done investigating this issue and I am sure they are in violation of some banking and privacy laws!!

This branch of Chase bank is the absolute worst bank I have ever been to in any place in the nation because the Tellers are rude. They make me feel like they can't stand me and this 1 girl acts like she literally hates me! I thought maybe that is how she is, but I went in there this week and she was being somewhat talkative and fairly friendly to the person before me. When it was my turn, she actually seemed angry at me! I honestly have no idea why as I'm just a customer. I don't know any of these people outside of the bank and I've always been friendly and courteous even when being treated like this. I have been with WaMu/Chase for almost a decade now but am seriously considering switching banks even though I do almost all of my banking online. I was in a wonderful mood coming from the bank out business banks with as they are all so friendly and then went over to Chase to be treated so poorly. I don't want to do this anymore and think I may move all our banking to the local bank even though it may cost us money each month. Who want to go somewhere they're treated as though they are despised? :(

Came in today to inquire about opening an account and possible moving over my 401k.  Great service as soon as I walked in the door.  Bankers were helpful and easy to talk to.  The financial advisor at the branch – Jeff Plyamm – actually listened to my needs and we had a nice conversation about the different options I have for my IRA.  You can tell this guy knows what he's talking about.  Never had this kind of service from any other bank – especially when it came to my retirement planning.

THIS BANK IS TERRIBLE. I opened an account as primary checking in july, by december they closed it without explanation. My account was never overdrawn. They simply states the bank had the right to close my account at anytime. Better off with Bank of America or a credit union. Stay away from Chase Banks is my advice!!

I am a frequent patron of chase bank in Boulder, Colorado. I have not had a single positive experience since I have started using this bank. They get me with all kinds of crazy fees, and the service is very much sub-par. Right from day 1 I knew I was making a bad decision when the guy (Terry Gushiken?) set up my account. He was very concieded, and made me feel very small. I cannot wait until I can afford to switch banks, and I highly suggest any newcomers go to anyother bank in the area.
